Hon. Dr. Geraldine Chapey
is hereby invited
to a meeting!

      Frankly, Honorable Dr. Chapey, I have raised many issues because "I could not in good conscience stand by and see an innocent" (your flyer, p.l) faculty member being influenced and misled by your incredibly deceitful propaganda. It appears that your flyers have contained more fiction than facts. In order to clear the air and find all the answers to my questions and the questions of others, I am seeking your cooperation, Hon. Dr. Chapey.

      Let us arrange a forum, a meeting, a colloquium, a summit - call it what you will -so that union members can be given an opportunity to meet you and raise their questions.

      I am offering the following:

      DATE: TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 1992 - 3PM (Club Hour)
      (Change of date is possible if verifiable evidence is presented that
      Hon. Dr. Chapey had a previously scheduled meeting with Gov. Cuomo
      or Mayor Dinkins.
      PLACE: U-118 (Same room where Dr. Polishook has his two
      meetings; one disrupted, the other peaceful).
      SPEAKER. Hon. Dr. Geraldine Chapey
      SUBJECT: Response to Prof. Karkhanis' "irrelevant" questions raised in
      Patriots I through VIII.

      Ground Rules for Meeting

      1) All persons attending the meeting will be required to address Prof. Chapey properly, i.e. Hon. Dr. Chapey.
      2) All attendees will be required to be calm, professional and civilized, i.e., no confrontation.
      3) Her Excellency, Hon. Dr. Chapey, will be accorded appropriate respect and courtesies that are called for by her very high office.
      4) Only union members will be permitted to attend. No students will be allowed, nor will any faculty member be allowed to bring their class NO MATTER HOW STRONG AN URGE THEY MAY HAVE TO TEACH AND DEMONSTRATE MASLOW'S THEORY OF HIERARCHY OR ANY OTHER THEORY.
      5) No student or faculty member will be permitted to distribute flyers of any kind, particularly any attacking the Hon. Dr. Chapey. College Security will be posted outside the room.
      6) The Media Center will be requested to "place a large, visible tape recorder on a four-foot stand in the front of the room." (your flyer, p.2.)
      7) Coffee and light refreshments will be served and paid for by Prof. Karkhanis.
      8) To confirm arrangements, the Hon. Dr. Chapey is requested to call Prof. Karkhanis (ext 5639 or 5149) or write a brief note, before April 15th.
      9) Hon. Dr. Chapey is requested to cooperate in organizing an exhibit of her 72 PUBLICATIONS AND ALL OF HER CITATIONS.
      10) In the unforeseen event that the Hon. Dr. Chapey, due to ill health or emergency meeting with Mayor Dinkms, has to cancel at the last minute, provision will be made for a dramatic reading of excerpts from Maslow's Theory of Hierarchy and/or selections from Hon. Dr. Chapey's 72 publications.
