O'MALLEY ATTACKS DECEASED COLLEGE PRESIDENT

The following paragraph, authored by Queen of Released Time Susan O'Malley, appeared in "Single Parenting Maneuvers In Academia" in the periodical Radical Teacher, vol. 57, copyright date Fall 1999, page 31.  The paragraph refers to her maneuvering to get tenure at Kingsborough Community College, and what she did to impress President Goldstein. The Queen writes:

Next the union arranged a meeting for me with President Goldstein. I debated long and hard about my next step, which my feminist sister said was disgusting, but I decided to go ahead. I was desperate. I got dressed up to look as attractive and feminine as possible and arrived at President Goldstein's office on the appointed hour holding the hands of my two small, beautiful, tow-headed children who looked rather waif-like, as they were dressed to go to the beach. Their friend Susan, whose father knew President Goldstein, also came along. When he opened the door, I smiled graciously and said, "There has never been a question about my scholarly merit, but I wanted to make sure that you knew I am sole support of these children." Much to President Goldstein's credit, he decided instantaneously to work a deal with the union for my tenure, but not before he said, "I want to tell you that no matter what happens about tenure, you are a very lovely woman," and I graciously said, "Thank you so much, but I do want tenure," instead of "Up yours! What does my appearance have to do with this" It is ironic that . . . it was the fact of the children and my being a single mother . . . , that caused President Goldstein to relent. And so I was granted tenure . . . (emphasis supplied)

The above paragraph of necessity leads one to make the following observations.

1) That Susan O'Malley will put on different faces to different people to achieve her goals. Can we ever take her words for what they are?

2) She dresses up nicely and brings her kids to gain pity. Well, who can blame President Goldstein for trying to be nice and give her an innocent compliment?

3) She has no qualms about using her children as pawns to advance her claim for a job that she may or may not have been qualified to have. (We are reluctant to reference anyone's family member especially children here at the Patriot, however, in this instance, we have no choice.)

4) She talks about her "scholarly merit" but does not bring along her supposed publications. It makes one wonder just how "scholarly" she really is.

One must conclude that the Queen of Released Time is nothing but a hypocrite; a double talking, self-serving, opportunist who will bite the hands of those  who feed  her, sell out her own values just to get ahead.  It was she who dressed up to look attractive, it was she who brought her two children with her to get sympathy, and when the president (presumably and innocently) made an offhand complimentary remark, she attacked him.

But - what really characterizes her - is that she wrote this after President Goldstein passed on, and so, President Goldstein was unable to respond to her charges (We knew him to have better taste). (President Goldstein passed away on January 8, 1999, and this article appeared in an issue published Fall 1999, almost 9 months later.)   O'Malley was too cowardly to bring this up when Goldstein was alive and could respond. To us, the Queen is in all likelihood, being dishonest in this article (there were no witnesses for Goldstein's side). This is her side of the story. It is so sad that President Goldstein is not here to tell his.

O'Malley took from Goldstein, used him, and then hurt him. Goldstein was kind to her and gave her a life-long career. She waited until after he passed away, then trashed him in public, with no evidence except her word when he was gone and powerless to respond. This is cowardly and ungrateful.

ELECT THE "NO ACTION" CAUCUS WITH SUSAN, AND YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RECITE THE FOLLOWING AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF EVERY CLASS.

The Classroom Quasi-Prayer:

Oh, Ethereal Spirit, Bless our Great Leaders Battling Barb, Foggy London and the Queen of Released Time

And save them from the savage attacks on their Honesty by the Patriot Returns

Provide them even more  Released Time

So that they can urge us, indeed command us, to conduct non-stop demonstrations, parades and candle light vigils  against the CUNY  Administration and Every Perceived Injustice in the World

BUT CAN WE SEE THE FUTURE?

Consultations with our astrologer Swami Vivekananda Upanideshi in Bhavaneshwara,  India,  provides the following roadmap of Queen of Released Time activities to come in the near future:

1) Sept. 2007 - February 2008:  Sabbatical touring the English countryside researching the houses where Shakespeare slept.

2) March 2008 - February 2009: on Sick Leave but enjoying Brooklyn's culinary specialties in trendy restaurants, trips to museums, libraries, and historic houses.

3) February 2009 - File for retirement, and  collect hefty pension and social security. (Knows to get out in time - has inside information that Welfare Fund will tank in March 2009. Steve & Barb have absconded with the goods.)

THE WELFARE OF THE PATRIOT

Many of you have sent us e-mails asking about the well-being of the Patriot. Thank you so very much. We are pleased to inform you that the Patriot could not be happier these days. the Patriot has been riding around in a new, bright red 2007 Hummer H2 with bullet-proof glass donated by Patriotic Americans for Integrity in Academia, wearing a bullet-proof vest, courtesy of the Irish/Indian Police Union, and living in a lavish luxurious palace and casino at an undisclosed location in the Nevada desert, donated by the Lovelock Paiute Indian Tribe of Nevada. We'd also like to thank our loyal fans who have gone so far as to run out to the KCC parking lot to greet us. We truly feel blessed. We could not have done this without you.

Best wishes to all our good friends.
